The student experience
Each program day ensures a consistent and enriching experience for every student. It includes check-in, structured sports activities that support mentorship, a dedicated Character Huddle focusing on teamwork, respect, perseverance, and integrity, followed by Mentor Circles and dismissal. Students gain a safe, supervised environment, improved social-emotional skills, strong mentor relationships, and growth in confidence and behavior, which often translates to better focus in the classroom.
Partnership opportunities
We collaborate closely with elementary schools in Leon County, to provide this invaluable program. Schools provide space on campus (field, gym, multipurpose room), access to after-school scheduling, and connection with teachers/staff who wish to serve as partners. Leon County Schools, in partnership with FCA/Legacy Playmakers, provides program coordination, trained coaches and vetted volunteers, equipment, uniforms, resources, a character curriculum, community partnerships, and a fully structured after-school experience.
